My favorite part is the breakfast, with plenty of choices and the option to take coffee back to the room. The hotel is clean and quiet, and the staff are friendly. I've stayed twice and have been satisfied both times, but the food is only okay, so I can't give it five stars. At Japanese dinner, the raw fish is fresh and good, while the other dishes seem reheated. The standard French course is similar: everything is fresh, but the braised pork and fish taste like they were cooked earlier and warmed up. Still, at under JPY 5,000, it's hard to complain. One small thing, the pillows look comfortable but flatten out and get thin and hard. If you can, avoid corner room 401, near the women's onsen, because you can hear machinery rumbling all night. Lower-floor rooms such as 301 may have the same issue.

The koi pond and little garden were really peaceful, and we had a great view from our room. The hot springs were lovely too. The resort was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and the service was excellent. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets had a wide range of tasty options. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The location is the big plus, close to mount Omuro and the zoo, though you'll need a bus to get to the train station. The renovated hotel has terraces on every room, but the rooms themselves are on the small side. The lobby feels a little old, but it's clean and well maintained. The restaurant's courses are sophisticated and pricey.

The onsen is pretty decent, and the area around the hotel is really nice. The rooms are big, the Japanese garden is beautiful, and the food is great, no complaints there. The hotel is a bit old, but it's clean.
