The landlady is incredibly kind and wonderful, and the place has a real Showa-era atmosphere. I’ve already been back many times 😊 The ocean is right outside, with a fantastic view.

We’ve been welcomed so warmly on both of our visits, thank you. The view from the room is soothing, and we were especially grateful for the kind reception despite our 4:00 early morning flight.

Since the earthquake, the area has recovered and the guesthouses seem to be doing well. Some vacant rooms are used as filming locations for companies that send seasonal workers. It’s best to contact them before you book a place to stay.
