Villa On The Beach

The host was really welcoming and gave us local tips, plus some local Biwa fruit and milk. At 5800 per night per person, it was budget friendly. The hotel is right by the beach and has a fantastic view. I’d definitely stay here again.

We could relax in the hot spring, though the water ran a little hot. It flowed continuously, and there were two private family baths that could be locked from inside and used any time except during cleaning. Having three free washing machines was a big help. The room had a full set of dishes, and the kitchen included cooking tools and seasonings. We were able to cook the fish we caught, and fishing was nearby. Supermarkets, convenience stores, and drugstores were also close. Best of all, the beach sunset from our room was amazing.

This is a simple, no-frills place, more like a guesthouse than a villa, so don’t come expecting luxury. The bathroom and even the door feel guesthouse-level, but the hot spring is the real thing and I really enjoyed it. I was in the middle of a long cycling trip and stayed one night. There’s plenty of tableware if you want to cook, though I bought my dinner and breakfast at a nearby supermarket. Eating while watching the sunset over the beautiful coastline right in front of me was fantastic.

It’s an easy walk to shop in the town center, and there are two family-style baths with continuously flowing hot spring water. Being right by the sea means you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. A great place to stay.
