We only stopped in for a meal, so I can’t speak to the rooms. It’s just off the main shopping street leading up to Izumo Taisha, which could be handy for avoiding the lunch crowd. The menu has several comfort-food choices at good prices. My yakiniku came in a Western-style presentation with brown sauce and salad, plus tofu, pickles, rice and soup.

A lovely place, with welcoming owners and great food. No complaints.

The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. It’s more of a traditional inn than a hotel, though: the tatami and futons are old, the walls are thin, and the air conditioner and TV are dated. I think they’ve put in a new air purifier. The location is great for visiting Izumo Taisha, and I’d recommend leaving the car at the inn and going early in the morning. A good option for a one-night stay if that’s your plan.

Late May 2025. We booked through Rurubu for one night, three people, no meals. Check-in was at 4 PM and we arrived right on time. The kind landlady explained everything carefully. Payment is cash or PayPay only. Izumo Taisha Shrine is less than a five-minute walk, which made sightseeing convenient. The place is old, but the retro look is pleasant. Our small Japanese-style room on the second floor felt relaxing and had its own clean toilet and bathroom. Toothbrushes were provided. Hot water is only available until 11 PM. There’s a casual restaurant on the first floor that anyone can visit, open from breakfast through lunch. I didn’t eat there, but the menu samples looked good, from Izumo soba to set meals and Western dishes. Dinner there is only for overnight guests. It has a warm, business-hotel feel, and I’d happily stay again.

The shower was the real problem for us. The water pressure was weaker than a child’s watering can from a 100-yen shop. My child was upset, unsure if they were getting clean, and there was nothing we could do. When I raised it, staff first said that couldn’t be right, then came to the room and insisted that was simply how the shower worked. I was at a loss. I hadn’t booked this place for the bath, just wanted somewhere cheap over Golden Week, so I expected an old place and poor service. Still, the shower was too weak. I asked about taking a bath in the morning and was told to get up early, fill the tub, then bathe. But in a unit bathroom with the toilet and bath together, how was I supposed to wash? The location is fantastic for getting to Izumo Taisha Shrine first thing, and the free parking was enough for us, since we only needed a place to sleep. The staff had initially been very kind, accepting our early arrival and marking nearby restaurants on a map, which made the shower issue such a shame. I was also concerned about security: there was only a simple lock, and anyone could come and go through the automatic door. If the water pressure doesn’t bother you, the location is great, but it was a problem for my family.
