Really good food and service.

I stayed here while visiting Izumo Taisha Shrine. The inn is by a lake, and you can see it from the room. The rooms seemed recently renovated and were very clean. There’s even a view of the lake from the bathroom window. I could hardly see anyone else in the indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, so they felt almost private. Soaking in the outdoor bath while looking at the stars made me really happy. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and so generous I couldn’t finish everything. They served a thoughtful variety of ingredients, including seafood, lake produce, and vegetables. All the staff were kind and smiling. The woman who served dinner was so cute, like looking at my own daughter, and that made me happy too. I had a wonderful time. Thank you for the lovely space, hot springs, food, and stay. I’d love to return if I get the chance.

This seems to be a renovated public lodging facility, but the photos look too good to be true, so be cautious. The whole building smells old; commercial-grade automatic aroma dispensers might help. Looking through reviews from highest rated down, it seems several people have mentioned cleaning problems in the large public bath. The black mold should be removed regularly. The staff room just before the open-air bath is often empty and left open to guests, so a staff-only area would make sense. The open-air bath looks very different from the photos, which is disappointing, and nobody seems to use it. A round light or Japanese-style lantern outside the front desk could make the welcome feel warmer. The changing rooms have been renovated, and some artificial greenery on the beams might attract younger visitors at low cost. It’s often hard to get an answer by ringing the front desk at night. Extension 8 from the guest rooms doesn’t connect. The bathroom lists emergency number 505, but that number can’t be reached. It may be difficult to respond to emergencies if the number isn’t also posted in each room. Thank you.

I found this inn while looking for somewhere near Izumo Taisha Shrine with a hot spring and both dinner and breakfast included. It sits on the shore of Jinzai Lake, whose mysterious name caught my interest since I grew up in a town without a lake. From the room, the vast lake is right in front of you, and at night I could see the stars from bed. It’s not large, but it’s clean, reasonably priced, and the staff are gentle and kind, which made for a very relaxing stay. The room is simple and lovely, with no musty smell. The location, hot springs, and delicious food are all great. My friend and I both loved this secluded inn. It rained while I was there, so I couldn’t explore the area, which was a shame. The property also seems to have glamping facilities and rooms where pets are allowed. I’d like to stay again if I get the chance.

The room was lovely, but the food was the best part. I especially liked the shiitake tsukudani with a yuzu aroma, which you can also buy at the shop. I went back for more rice because of it! The kids had a children’s lunch, and it wasn’t the usual frozen food. The coarsely ground hamburger was excellent, and dessert after the meal was delicious too. I really liked the hot spring water here, especially compared with others in Shimane. My skin felt soft and smooth after a bath. The room was so nice the kids got excited and ran around. Soundproofing isn’t very strong, so families with children may want to keep their voices down. It’s easy to get to Izumo Taisha, and I recommend the inn. Having a coin laundry available was helpful too.
