Hotel Sunvalley Izu-Nagaoka Annex

I paid just under 7,000 yen a night. The room felt quite old, and the bath was tiny and cramped, but I could relax in the large public bath at the main Sun Valley building, with a shuttle from the Annex. Day use of the main building's hot spring costs 1,300 yen, so after subtracting that, I think the room came to about 5,700 yen a night, which is a good deal. Around 7,000 yen with breakfast is reasonable, though I was a little disappointed. The rooms and hotel were well maintained, and the hotel itself was very clean.

This is economical lodging, with no elevator, a pool, and an American-style motel feel. The rooms aren't dirty, but they're worn down. The air conditioning smells bad, and the bathroom is worse. I wouldn't bring family here for sightseeing. It seems suited to personal or business travelers. Breakfast in the main building, though, is excellent.

The staff are polite and kind, and I had a comfortable stay. This is a hot spring town with lots of upscale hotels and inns nearby, but since this place has no elevators, the price is more like a business hotel. There's an affiliated inn about a two-minute drive away, with a shuttle also available, where you can enjoy one of the area's largest and best-known hot springs. If you want a simple place to stay, give it a look.

I was here on a business trip and found the twin room spacious and comfortable. Since this is an annex of Hotel Sun Valley, guests can use the main building's large public bath and breakfast, which feels like a real luxury. The shuttle ride takes about three minutes and runs regularly, so getting there is easy without a wait. Driving over is also an option.
