The onsens were fantastic, and although the hotel is old, it’s kept up well. The staff were very nice and helpful. There weren’t many food choices when we got there late, though the shop downstairs had a few snacks. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel, but breakfast was good and there was plenty of it. The cigarette smell throughout the hotel, including our room, was annoying as a non-smoker.

The Japanese-style rooms and breakfast were lovely, and there are several onsens both indoors and outside. It’s a charming ryokan with a bit of a transitional feel. Staff were very helpful. Only a little English is spoken, but gestures made everything easy to understand. Highly recommend.

It has that feeling of visiting your grandparents when you were a kid, and the staff are super friendly and ready to help. Just keep in mind that they come into your room in the afternoon and at breakfast time to put the bed out and take it away.

For around 10,000 yen for two people, we got good service, a private onsen, breakfast, and more. Definitely worth the price, highly recommended.
