Shinkano

I had a bath in the hot spring before bed, and it was wonderful. The place was quiet and comfortable, and the staff were kind. I even got to sing karaoke, something I hadn't done in a long time. There was a chef people called a genius, and everything I ate was truly delicious. I'm extremely satisfied, that's all I can say.

I’ve stayed here twice now, and the landlady and staff are so welcoming that I’m already wanting to come back. The private open-air bath is a real treat, especially soaking while listening to the birds. Chef Kamano’s cooking also stands out, with seasonal local seafood and mountain produce. They’re happy to accommodate allergies and food intolerances too. I’m looking forward to another visit next season.

The open-air bath was lovely, with a view of the garden, and the spring water felt great at a comfortable temperature. After using the indoor bath, I could relax outside and unwind completely. We booked the plan that gave us the whole building to ourselves, and the food was beautifully prepared and delicious. I’d wanted to stay at Shinkansen for a long time, so it was a treat to finally make it. Most of all, the landlady and staff made us feel so welcome. It was a luxurious, happy stay, and I can recommend the inn wholeheartedly.

We had a peaceful, luxurious stay with the whole inn to ourselves. It was lovely to soak in the baths while looking out at the Japanese garden, with complete privacy. Both the indoor bath and the open-air bath were reserved just for us. Dinner was a real highlight, from the local ingredient-based dishes to the abalone poêlé, Kakegawa beef roast, and special curry to finish. Each plate looked and tasted wonderful, and you could feel the chef’s care in it. At night the garden was lit up, with a dreamy Japanese umbrella display and a surprise event that made the stay memorable. A special place to recharge in the quiet.
