A lovely hidden gem, with newly renovated hallways and big, clean, welcoming rooms that had everything I needed. I stayed in one with a private Cypress bathtub, and it felt like having aromatherapy right in my room. Definitely a place worth visiting.

The hot stone bath was new to me, and I really enjoyed it. Both the indoor and outdoor public onsens were clean and beautifully designed. The room was large and clean, and the staff were enthusiastic. Mr Ichikawa even waited for us outside in the open-air car park in freezing temperatures and biting wind.

It was peaceful and simple, and I had one of the deepest sleeps I can remember. The room was spacious. The bed was on the firm side, but the comforter was incredibly soft. The outdoor bath areas were tidy and nicely designed.

The bath uses stones from Badgastain and hokutolites, and the place is known as a radon therapy spa. Besides the hot spring, there’s a bedrock bath and a mist sauna. You can use these radon therapy facilities all day for 1,500 yen, or get 300 yen off if you bring your own towel.
