APA Hotel Kagoshima Chuo Ekimae

The room size was reasonable for what I paid, and the location is very convenient. My main concern was the carpet, which had lots of dirt particles and needed a more thorough vacuum. They don’t clean the rooms daily, but do leave clean towels and amenities each day. We didn’t need that many towels, so we left them untouched in the carrier, but the cleaner didn’t take them away. We ended up with a big pile of towels, which felt wasteful.

It’s easy to get around from here, with the main train station and lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel is clean and convenient. My room was very small but comfortable. I was told there are trouser presses on every level, but I really wanted somewhere to hang clothes and an iron.

We had a wonderful stay, and the room was really nice. The beds were very comfortable, and compared with most of the other hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan, the room was rather large. Check-in was probably the easiest I’ve had in Japan, with hardly any paperwork. The downside was the view: just another building’s wall, and the window looked into a hallway, so it was easy for people to see into the room. We had to keep it closed while changing.

Breakfast was good, and I’d stay here again. The space is well managed, with enough room to open two large suitcases. The hotel is in a great spot, just outside big camera, and has free fast Wi-Fi plus free washers and dryers on the first floor.
