Hotel Livemax Kagoshima

The room was a good size and had all the amenities, with a supermarket right outside where it was easy to grab snacks. It’s a bit far from the main Kagoshima station, but local trams and buses are close enough that getting around wasn’t too bad. The hotel is also very close to the pier and local Kagoshima station. I’d recommend it!

I received a New Year week promotion, but I’d still have given this place five stars without the discount. The staff were kind and attentive, checking whether I was comfortable, and a small communication snag was sorted out with Google Translate. I got a high-floor room with a great view of Sakurajima. For the price and location, I have no complaints. I noticed that most, if not all, of the negative reviews were from foreigners who may not understand how Japanese hotels work.

Hotel Livemax Kagoshima was a pleasant, hassle-free stay for the price. My room was compact but comfortable, with a good bed, clean bathroom, fridge, and reliable Wi-Fi. The location made it easy to get to restaurants, convenience stores, the tram stop, and Kagoshima’s main attractions. Staff were polite and helpful, and check-in and checkout were smooth. The hotel offers good value for a clean, convenient, budget-friendly stay. I’d recommend it to solo travelers or anyone visiting Kagoshima on a budget who still wants comfort and convenience.

The room was a little small, though I think it’s enough space for one person. It had a microwave, and the air conditioning worked well in July, when the average temperature was 34 degrees. The bathroom and curtains were very clean. There’s a laundry room, but detergent costs extra. A supermarket directly opposite seemed to stay open until 1am. The ferry terminal is nearby, and it’s convenient to take the tram to the city center or central station. The price was very cheap, and parking was free, in the supermarket’s multi-storey car park. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, and I’d like to stay again when I return to Kagoshima.
