Silk inn Kagoshima

The onsen was nice, and the women working at its floor desk were lovely. The rest of the stay had some real problems, though. We found a strong paint smell in the bathroom one afternoon, so using the toilet was unpleasant and showering made me feel nauseous. We were going out for dinner and leaving the next morning, so we showered at the onsen instead. The hotel felt dated. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and there was only a sheet between us and the duvet, which shifted around easily overnight. We had driven there and followed the English website's advice to use a nearby parking lot for a discount. Staff told us the lot was no longer associated with the hotel, so we paid full price without compensation. Apparently the change had been made on the Japanese website in May 2024, but the English page still hadn't been updated by October 2024. I found it unprofessional that the hotel didn't make up for the misleading information.

The price was great, and the hotel was clean, with friendly staff who were very helpful. Its own hot spring onsen is included with the room. It's close to the city center and you can reach it by bridge. Kagoshima is Japan's wagyu capital, and the food is amazing.

Breakfast was a highlight, with lots of local specialties, and the staff worked hard to make the stay a good one. The hotel has a natural hot spring and is about a five-minute walk from Kagoshima-chuo station. I was completely satisfied.

A clean business hotel at a nice price, with breakfast and onsen entry included. The rooms are fairly spacious and can fit two people, and all the amenities are there. It's in central Kagoshima, about a 15-minute walk from chuo Kagoshima Station.
