Kamakura Park Hotel

I had a clean, comfortable room overlooking the water at this pleasant hotel right beside the beach. Someone at the front desk spoke English well and helped me book dinner. Guests also had their temperature taken each day.

There aren’t many places to eat nearby, and the busier streets and local train station are about a 10-minute walk away. Driving is a bad idea: traffic moves very slowly even on weekdays and is a mess on weekends. Still, we enjoyed staying here while visiting the big Buddha and other lovely Kamakura shrines. It’s an elegant hotel right by the beach, with ocean views from every room. As usual in Japan, the staff were helpful and everything was meticulously clean.

From our beachside view, walking right along the boardwalk led toward views of Fuji 🗻, while heading left took you toward surfers 🏄🏾‍♀️. There’s also a restaurant beside the hotel called Venus with great food, drinks and dessert 🍰. The hotel itself was great: clean, well located, and the customer service was excellent. You can choose a Western or Japanese breakfast. My one suggestion would be more TV channels, since there were only a few Japanese programs such as game shows and news. I really enjoyed my stay 😊

The front desk staff were kind and helpful, and the hotel is in a perfect spot right on the bay. We rented bikes there, but one wasn’t shifting properly, so they gave us a nice gift in response. Great example of Japanese hospitality.
