Kamakura station is only a three-minute walk away, and the neighborhood is very quiet. There’s also a nice Kinokuniya supermarket right around the corner, which makes picking up food easy. Breakfast was good, though the choices were limited. The room is very dark, so reading on paper can be difficult. There isn’t much space, especially for travelers with large luggage, and hanging clothes is a problem, particularly in winter. The toilet is separate and has no washing tub, while the shower room is tiny even by Tokyo standards. There’s no safe in the room. I didn’t mind that there was no TV.

The rooms were clean and pleasant, and breakfast was included. The hotel has a minimalist look, but it feels like some practical features were sacrificed for the design. It was quite dark, especially around the table if you wanted to work or do your makeup, and there wasn’t enough space to open luggage fully. The toilet and shower are separate, but there’s no basin in the toilet, so you have to go out to the shower room to wash your hands. That’s awkward if two people need the toilet and shower at the same time. The parking information on the website felt misleading. It said the nearest overnight parking was 400 yen, but when we arrived the staff already had a map of nearby lots and said the 400 yen Times parking was closed and no longer available. We ended up paying around 2100 yen for overnight parking. It wasn’t a deal breaker, but I would have appreciated not feeling misled. If you’re driving, factor in the parking cost.

The location is great, really close to the station and that cute walkable street. The room was roomy enough, with comfortable beds and a great shower. It’s a beautifully designed hotel, and the service was great too, from luggage delivery to breakfast and cleaning. I highly recommend it!

The room was new and minimalist, and the location was good. But for 250 dollars a night, it felt expensive for what you get, especially since hotels around the area are about 50 percent less. Without the price, I might have given it two stars instead of one. The reception service was poor. I was handed the key without being told that the amenities weren’t in the room and had to be picked up. There was no tea or coffee, and when I asked, staff said I could buy it from the hotel. I wouldn’t expect that at a Japanese hotel at this price, since most hotels in Japan offer unlimited tea or coffee. The Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out; staff couldn’t solve it and just said it was bad that day. There was no bathtub, which would have been fine if that had been made clear during booking. There were also no reading lights by the beds. Staff didn’t understand English well, and the service felt minimal.

As a solo traveler, I loved how easy it was to get around. The station is only a four-minute walk away, a grocery store is nearby, and it’s close to the main sights. There are also quiet back roads to take when you’ve had enough of crowds. I stayed four nights, and the staff were so, so sweet. They remembered me whenever I came back from an outing, and I made some great friends. One older gentleman at the front desk was especially lovely and really made my trip better. The room was clean, updated, and comfortable, and the pajamas were fabulous. I loved it and would stay again! 🩷 MP
