The food needs improvement.

We came for one weekday night as a family of five, including my elderly parents. The outside looks a little old-fashioned, but the lobby, wallpaper, hallways, and stairs were clean and didn’t feel dated. The building sits a little back from the road, so it was quiet even though it’s near the station. The room was spacious and clean, with a panoramic ocean view from the window and a pleasant breeze. There were handrails at the entrance, bathroom, and toilet. We laid out our own futons. My father has some leg pain and was concerned about the stairs, so I called ahead. They carefully explained that the bath and dining room are in the semi-basement and the rooms are on the second floor, which helped us feel comfortable using the room. There’s no elevator. The bath was clean, had handrails, and the water was pleasantly warm, not too hot. The shampoo didn’t lather well. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the portions were enough for my parents to finish everything, even though they hate leaving food. They were full and satisfied. The last dish, the shirasu and ginger rice pot, was especially good with the scorched rice mixed in.

For sightseeing, the location is great, and the large public bath is just right. I’d like it even more if the rooms also had indoor baths.
