Purpose Resort Ocean View Kamakura

We were there for four nights, and the house was comfortable and well equipped. Our host was very proactive, and the location was great. The one downside was that it was a little noisy.

We had such a wonderful stay, and the inn left us with lovely memories. The room looked just as good as it did on the website, and all the advance information about restaurants and places to visit nearby helped us have a really fulfilling trip. We were especially touched that the owner let us use our reservation for this stay after we had to cancel at the last minute a year ago because heavy snow led to flight cancellations. It was kind of him to do that despite the inconvenience. One thing to keep in mind is that the stairs to the second floor have no handrail, which could feel a little unsafe for elderly guests or small children. We also had a large van and parked nearby. The lot right in front of the ramen restaurant was expensive, while Mitsui Repark Yuigahama 4-chome Parking Lot nearby was cheaper. It might be more considerate to recommend that lot to future guests.

The location was perfect, and Toshi was thoughtful throughout, from the helpful replies to the messages to the small details around the room. After checking in, I had fun looking around and was impressed by how carefully the amenities had been chosen. I enjoyed the coffee, making popcorn and eating it, and unwinding with a view of the ocean. The cypress-scented bath was wonderful, and after using the hair dryer my hair felt surprisingly smooth, lol. I bought bakery bread for breakfast and toasted it in the Balmuda toaster. It made for a lovely trip. I'd love to come back!

I managed to book during the Obon holidays and stayed with a local friend. The location, interior, and facilities were all just right, and the amenities felt thoughtfully chosen. The hospitality was great too. We were very happy with our two-day stay and would love to return.
