The place is pretty old, from the building to the baths, but it has a charm I’ve gotten hooked on. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. I’ve stayed twice and loved both visits, and I’m definitely going back. Every room has tatami mats and futons, which feel nostalgic to me. Breakfast is good quality and comes as a set meal, so there’s no buffet. There’s also a small arcade with coin games and crane games. It’s a nice spot for a night or two, as long as you’re not expecting Hilton Hotels.

We left our belongings behind, but Furanui Onsen kept them safe and helped us get them back. The hospitality was good.

The room didn’t have its own bathroom, but the hotel was comfortable and had a good onsen. A nice traditional Japanese stay.

For what it costs, I’d give it six stars if I could. The staff were super friendly, the spa was awesome, and the supper was even better!

A great place to stop for a local dip.
