We came here to get away from Tokyo for New Year, and the staff were so kind and accommodating. The ski lifts and onsen aren't walkable, but they're a quick drive away. We didn't have a car, so Mao-san kindly drove us around. There's also a private bath you can book for one group each day. You can order sake or beer for it, though it takes at least four hours to fill. In the middle of January it felt cold at first, but it warmed up and was perfect by the end. We'd absolutely come back. Thank you for taking care of us.☺️

The couple sent us off with the cutest delicious cookies, such a sweet touch. They also made us an amazing breakfast and lunch using halal ingredients, and I got to try sukiyaki with halal meat in Japan for the first time. The place is really convenient for the Zao onsen area and ski resort. It was an incredible experience, thank you so much ;)

Wakana San's cooking was near perfect, and every dish was delicious. Before dinner, Carl and Wakana San also took us to onsens. We're a family of three with a young child, and their English helped us learn more about the region and the surrounding area. They both made our holiday feel wonderfully pampered. :)

We were just a quick drive from the Zao ski slopes, which made getting there easy. The Christmas Day package was well worth what it cost, and the pension itself is beautiful. The hosts were incredibly kind and hospitable.
