The owner and landlady were both really warm and friendly. We needed a place on short notice for a business trip, so we booked three rooms for three people that same day. The rooms felt new, clean, and roomy. The bath is shared and was big enough for what looked like four or five people, though guests were asked to use it one at a time. We couldn't have a meal because of the same-day booking, but the reviews on the website spoke highly of the food.

The front desk staff were kind, and even though the building is older, it was clean. We found manga on the sofa, plus a shared fridge, sink, and toilet in the hallway. Our room itself just had a TV and hangers. The eco plan only included toothbrushes and face towels, while the bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and shampoo for kids. We booked at the last minute since there was space during a soccer match. It was around 10,000 yen for two adults and two children, with one child sharing a bed with a parent, room only. The Wi-Fi was slow but still usable.

Everyone at Yokohamaya was so kind and gentle, and I had a really pleasant stay. The place is old, but it's looked after well, and the food is delicious. I'm staying here today. Thank you so much for all your help, and for everything.

I stayed in the annex, where the baths are. The dining hall is in the main building, and there are three washing machines on the annex's first-floor terrace, reached from the stairs. There was WiFi, though I couldn't work out the password (*´D`*). The dining setup feels a lot like a school cafeteria. You pick up your meal on a tray, and rice and miso soup are served from a shared table. The little tables seat two and have partitions between them, so you can't see the people on the other side. That seems better for individual guests than groups. The food, baths, and rooms for the soccer training camp are pretty average, despite all the odd reviews. What really stood out were the ashtrays outside, in the lobby, and even in the rooms! 🚭 It's like the Showa era! (^_^*) Very smoker-friendly.

The room has both air conditioning and heating. If you put up a sign when you go out or head to work, they'll clean it, though I don't think they'll replace the futon sheets or pillowcases (lol). The bath, toilet, and refrigerator are shared. There are three baths, in the main building, annex, and new building. The toilets are Western-style, and the main building has a washlet. Wi-Fi is available, but it's unreliable. The food is quite tasty, with plenty of side dishes and all-you-can-eat rice, so there should be something to eat even if seafood isn't your thing. A lot of the dishes do use seafood, though, so people who dislike it may not enjoy the meals as much. Since the inn is in an industrial area, people from various industries stay here. It should be fine if that doesn't bother you.
