We liked the view, the clean rooms, and being able to watch trains, though the price is why I settled on 3 out of 5. The owner's directions still took us along very narrow roads, and getting into the parking area meant making a U-turn on the last uphill stretch. The steep gradient and rutted surface were worrying. Inside, the renovated building shows a lot of care. The indoor bath and open-air bath were both nice, and the kids enjoyed the outdoor one, though it felt exposed. Lowering the roller blinds partway seems sensible. The shower pressure was weak, so I wouldn't run it while the tub fills. The tub area and deck are damp, and I suspect that draws millipedes and house centipedes. We saw three house centipedes; the last was big enough that my child stepped on it a little and everyone panicked. I added a photo at the end to show its size for anyone squeamish. The bedroom combines two rooms, but has just one air conditioner. The toilet takes a long time to flush and sound carries, as other reviews mention. There was only one kitchen trash can, which bothered my wife. Toothbrushes were provided even though they weren't listed, a nice touch. There are no condiments, so remember that if you plan to bring food. If insects, narrow roads, or privacy are concerns for you, think about that before choosing it.

The sauna and cold plunge were really satisfying, and I'd be happy to come back if I get the chance. We also had a great time fishing, going to the beach, and visiting the aquarium, thanks to the excellent location. Driving was the harder part: the roads are narrow and the parking area sits on a very steep slope, so you need a good run-up. A large car could take some skill to get up there. The toilet is loud enough to be awkward even among family, and some kind of sound masking would help. Thanks.

The garden looks out to the sea, and the old house has been renovated beautifully. We came with our family and pet dog, and really liked having a sauna, cold plunge pool, and open-air bath at this price. We'd happily stay again.

We dropped in after surfing for the sauna, and ended up loving the casual feel. I was a little unsure about staying in an old-style house, but inside it was spotless. We made the most of both the sauna and the private sauna, and the proper cold bath made the stay especially satisfying.
