Kamogawa Grand Tower

The Jacuzzi and sauna were nice, and the beds were comfortable, but three nights here felt like three too many. We’re a family of four from New Zealand, and had booked sea-view accommodation but didn’t get it. We were told nothing could be done to fix that. The pool was closed until summer, which apparently means July. Club Wyndham members, be wary: the description on the owners’ website isn’t very accurate, and there are no bikes to use. Cleanliness could have been better too. This was a real “meh” ending to an otherwise amazing two-week trip around Japan. If we’d received accurate information about the property, we wouldn’t have taken the train from Tokyo and back for this stay.

The balcony has a breathtaking view of the sea. Inside, the apartment feels roomy, with two bedrooms, a living area, a kitchen, and a separate laundry area.

There’s plenty of food nearby, and a convenience store and pharmacy just behind the hotel. We had lots of room for the three of us. Our apartment faced north, so I got some lovely sunrise and sunset photos. Kamogawa Sea World is about a 15-minute walk away, and the beach is only a stone’s throw from the hotel.

The view from the balcony was lovely, and the room was very spacious, though the price reflects that. The furnishings feel dated, like something from a 1970s hotel. The walk to SeaWorld is pleasant and easy. There’s a supermarket about 10 minutes away on foot, but no sidewalk, so watch out for cars. Also be careful getting out of the elevator: the doors can squeeze you before they retract if you’re slow, which could be dangerous for small kids.
