La Mirador

There's a warm welcome waiting for guests, and you take off your shoes at the door and put them in the cupboard. I loved the 1940s-style lounge, which felt like walking onto an old movie set. The hotel has both European and Japanese rooms and a lovely traditional feel. The owner loves French cuisine and travels there twice a year to take courses, so you won't go hungry. The male and female onsen are used nude as standard, with wraps provided. We went to relax, then walked over the hill to the fishing Village and got up early the next morning to watch the fishermen head out. It was an amazing place to see the sun rise in a traditional fishing area.

The surroundings and atmosphere were lovely, and the owner was so friendly. It felt like she paid attention to each guest individually to make their stay pleasant. The only drawback for me was that the Wi-Fi signal was too weak to reach my room.

We were very comfortable during our stay, and the meals were excellent. The staff were so kind.

I booked room only and didn't find the musty smell some reviews mention especially bothersome. It seemed like they had taken steps to deal with it, and to me it was more of a pleasant old antique scent. The lobby, hallways, and rooms all had carefully chosen antique furniture. The public bath was small, but still enough to ease my tiredness. With a beautiful ocean view and quiet surroundings, it's a great place if you want to get away from the city's noise.😌
