Hinaya Higashiyama

The bathroom was a big hit with the kids. The house combines a traditional Japanese Chaya style with modern Western practicality, so it has a historic feel along with the useful things you need for a stay. It's a cozy, detached three-bedroom home in a quiet local neighborhood, about a five-minute walk from Higashi Chaya District. The receptionist was polite, welcoming, and efficient, so registration didn't take long. There are several restaurants and supermarkets nearby, making it easy to find things to eat. My main complaints were that the refrigerator didn't have enough storage space, and cooking took longer than expected with only one electric stove.

So welcoming, and beautifully designed!

It was a luxurious, relaxing night, and I can see myself coming back again and again as if this were my own vacation home. The inn is in a quiet residential area, about a ten-minute walk from Higashi Chaya District. We entered with the password sent in advance, and the air conditioners and heated floors were already on. It was my first time trying heated tatami, and it felt so nice I fell asleep. There was plenty of tableware and cooking gear, so I drove to Omicho Market for ingredients and made dinner. The amenities were high quality, and I especially liked the toothbrushes and razors. The loft sofa was comfortable too. The bathroom was spacious, and I was surprised it had a bubble bath. I think couples and families would both enjoy staying here.

It was my first stay here, and it felt more like visiting a friend's home than staying in a shared room at a traditional Japanese inn. I felt very relaxed and would definitely like to come back.
