Hyatt Centric Kanazawa

I liked it enough to stay twice in the same year, and it’s honestly one of the best hotels I’ve tried in Japan. As a new hotel right beside Kanazawa station, it’s exceptionally convenient. Malls and Toyota rent a car locations are nearby, and there's plenty of parking, including underground parking with direct access to the hotel. The staff were professional and very friendly. The breakfast buffet had a broad mix of local and Western food to suit different tastes. Rooms were spacious, with very comfortable beds and a great bathroom.

Hyatt Centric Kanazawa made the strongest impression on me from our recent Japan trip. It’s a beautiful hotel, right in the heart of downtown Kanazawa. Kanazawa Station is on one side, handy for travel, and a couple of modern shopping malls are on the other. Omicho Market is a five-minute walk away, and Kanazawa Castle is roughly half an hour on foot. We drove, and parking cost 1,200 yen per night. Compared with where I live, that felt inexpensive. We’ll book here again when we return to Kanazawa.

We were impressed by our first stay with the Hyatt Centric brand. The suite was comfortable, spacious, and well laid out, so it was easy to settle in. It’s a solid four-star hotel and good value, with a very convenient spot beside the station, shopping nearby, and easy access to the main sights. Breakfast had fewer Western choices than we expected. Dinner at the hotel the evening before we left, though, was very good and a pleasant surprise. It’s a stylish, convenient place to stay in Kanazawa.

We found plenty of restaurants nearby, and getting around was easy: the Loop Bus from Kanazawa Station serves the tourist sights, and an ¥800 day pass gives unlimited rides. The hotel itself is comfortable and fairly new, with a convenient location near the station. Our king room was a good size, clean and well equipped, though there was a large stain on the sofa. Check-in was fast and we could get into the room early. Breakfast came with our American Express booking, but the selection could have been better and some buffet items, coffee included, were empty at times. Checkout was just as quick.
