Karatsu Seaside Hotel

The ocean-view room was excellent and made me feel like a high-end traveller. I had just flown in from Europe, so the Onsen included in the room price was especially relaxing. I visited it on both of my stays. The little touches made this one of my best hotel stays: complimentary cake, ice cream by the Onsen, a coupon for the souvenir and snack shop, and a wonderful breakfast with handmade onigiris. Inoue-Sama at reception took time to help me feel comfortable, and the service in English was a really pleasant surprise during my time in Kyushu. I hope I can come back.

During my 18-day trip around Kyushu, this was easily the best hotel I stayed at. We were in the newer East building, where the huge, beautiful rooms all have sea views. We could choose any cake we liked from the free welcome cake service. The spa was lovely, with towels, bathrobes, and bottled water available wherever we went, plus a wide selection of free cream from chateraise outside. We especially enjoyed the heated rooftop infinity pool, the different saunas, and the indoor pool. There were so many dishes at both the dinner and breakfast buffets that we couldn't try them all. We'll definitely be back!

Our room had a balcony facing the sea, and you could enjoy that view from the bath as well. It was huge, clean, and had all the amenities. Drinks from the minibar are free, with a charge only if you want it restocked. There are public baths and saunas too, if that's more your thing. Dinner and breakfast buffets were quite good. I'd give them 6 stars if they added more variety.
