The artwork around the hotel gives a sense of its quality and character. Because of my work, I attended a gathering of art enthusiasts, and for some reason they had prepared the finest suite for me. Its living room had a magnificent fireplace. I was told His Majesty had stayed in that room too. The thoughtful design and pleasant materials make this hotel far surpass modern luxury hotels. It may not suit people looking for a lively atmosphere.
10/10
The French food was delicious, and both the rooms and hot springs were clean, which gave the stay a luxurious feel. The interior, garden, and gate all helped create a special atmosphere. Service was excellent and attentive to the small details. Highly recommended.
8/10
I got to attend a Viorila concert and had a really relaxing time. The inn’s whole atmosphere was lovely, and the staff at the museum were efficient. It felt as if I were living as a creature in nature.
6/10
This was originally a corporate training facility, so it doesn’t feel like a hotel. The rooms, large public bath, and facilities are all very clean and well maintained. There are lots of lovely guesthouses nearby, and I’d recommend staying at one of those if you’re visiting Karuizawa.
10/10
It’s a quiet retreat away from the busy tourist side of Karuizawa. It has the feel of a members-only hotel, so it’s a good fit if you want to relax.
