The Prince Karuizawa

The dinner was much lighter than the French course meals I usually avoid because they feel too heavy, but it was still really good and carefully prepared. Our table faced a large window looking out over a pond with illuminated trees. We also enjoyed the coupon for hot spring baths at neighboring hotels run by the same chain. Momigi hot spring felt new and modern, and was a great place to recharge before dinner. We chose this stay for our wedding anniversary and were delighted by the room, food, and hospitality. From our twin room, we could see the golf course, where we spotted only two or three people during our stay, as well as a lovely pond and Japanese pine trees. The staff were attentive, polite, and proactive, so we never felt confused or uncomfortable. There was no tipping needed in Japan. After checkout, staff noticed we were waiting for a bus in the lobby and arranged a ride just for us to Karuizawa station. That was an amazing end to the stay.

Our family of four adults, including my elderly father, had a two-bedroom suite that suited us perfectly. The staff took thoughtful care of him, arranging a wheelchair, helping him in and out of the car, and making sure he had comfortable seating in the restaurant. Their kindness made the stay comfortable and memorable for all of us.

I stayed with friends on 8/2. The hotel was comfortable and really nice, and the staff were helpful. I left my Airpod2 in the room, but after I emailed the hotel, they found it and mailed it back to me. I'd recommend this hotel to people coming to Karuizawa.

The room had an amazing view and huge twin beds. There isn't much nearby beyond the resort itself, and you'll need to take the shuttle to the west or east branch for the hot spring. It runs twice an hour. I'd recommend having a car.
