Tokyu Vacations Karuizawa -7 Nights, Nagano Prefecture, Japan

There was plenty of room, and the place had almost everything you'd need for a vacation.

It was easy to get around, just a 2-3 minute drive from the station, and the accommodation made my two-night, three-day Karuizawa trip really comfortable. Everything was furnished like a home, and the guest-friendly details stood out, especially the labels on cabinets and drawers and the useful, thorough guidebook. The facilities were clean and in great shape, and I thought the value was excellent. Karuizawa is expensive, but I enjoyed picking up groceries at the supermarket and cooking after getting back in the evening. There isn't a public bath, though there are several Higaeri Onsen hot springs in the area to enjoy. A couple of things could be better. The dryer was extremely loud, enough to interrupt conversation, so I felt awkward doing laundry and drying things in the evening, even though traveling made it necessary. Also, the heating didn't feel sufficient for Karuizawa's cold winter. I tried turning on the yuca heater, but it still wasn't quite warm enough. I definitely want to return in winter and hope it's a bit warmer next time.

This place feels like a vacation home, with a kitchen and bathroom set up like you'd have in a detached house. I've stayed here many times and it's always well maintained and excellent. There's no large public bath or dining option, and it seems to book up fast in busy periods, so reservations need to be made early.

There isn't a large public bath on site, so you'll need to walk over to the group baths. The station is about seven minutes away on foot, which isn't too far. The property itself is very clean and comfortable, and overall it's a pleasant place to stay.
