Hotel Metropolitan Kawasaki

There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and getting here from Tokyo Haneda airport is easy. The entrance decorations are beautiful, the staff are great, and breakfast is nice. It can be disappointing when the breakfast area gets crowded, though. Some parts of the property are starting to feel a little dated.

The room was spacious even by western standards, and the whole facility was very clean. It’s just a two-minute walk from Kawasaki station, making trips to central Tokyo or Yokohama extremely convenient. Staff were all polite and courteous, and spoke English reasonably well. The laundry room was a godsend. At a lot of other hotels, laundry facilities just seem to exist for convenience, but this one is a comfortable, welcoming lounge.

The room had multiple chargers for devices, which was a huge plus. I also got some work done at the laundry room’s large work table while waiting for my washing. It’s a comfortable place that works well for getting things done. Breakfast had a great mix of Japanese and Western food, and the lunch buffet was excellent too, with high quality dishes including roast beef, which I went for. Lazona Plaza is close by, with everything you might need, and the food street at B1 and nearby supermarket were handy. The location is super convenient, just one stop from Shinagawa Station, where you can connect to the Shinkansen.

A jazz band was playing in the lobby on Friday night during our stay. The hotel itself is nice and modern, with a spacious, comfortable room. The laundry room was roomy, had more than five machines, and you could check their status from your room.
