The drive from Kiso-Fukushima station takes about 20 minutes. Because of that remote location, dinner at ¥6,600 with no menu choice and breakfast at ¥2,200 felt exorbitantly priced. We suggest picking up dinner from the friendly elderly couple who run a restaurant across from the station before heading to the hotel. The hotel itself was good, and the staff were excellent. Before arriving, though, their curt replies to a few questions put us off.

We loved the dinner and breakfast, and the simple public bath was nice too. The staff at both the front desk and dining hall were so friendly and helpful, really sweet. Even the drive up to Morino hotel was beautiful, with snow-covered mountain peaks and autumn trees along the road. Thank you!

The walk through the Forest sauna area at night felt therapeutic, and we had a good one-night stay in December. Adachi-san at reception deserves special thanks. She looked out for my family and made the stay great. Arigatou!

I first booked for 10 people, then visited the hotel to get a feel for it and decided to cancel. The man at reception wasn’t very friendly or accommodating. It’s unfortunate.

There was nothing to eat if we hadn’t made a reservation when booking. Since we drove, getting there was easy, but eateries are inconvenient to reach without a vehicle and there aren’t many choices anyway.
