We had a great time here and hope to return soon. The views were beautiful, the inn itself was lovely, and both the room and onsen were just right. The food was incredible, too.

The hotel sits in a lovely, remote area that feels peaceful and away from the usual tourist spots. It has a traditional character, while the building itself is modern and spotless. Our room and the restaurant both looked out over the mountains, and the view was breathtaking. We also loved the indoor and outdoor onsen, and the Japanese meals were excellent at breakfast and dinner. The staff were so polite and friendly. At first, we weren’t sure how to eat some dishes or when to wear the yukata the hotel provided. A little guidance when we arrived would have helped. English wasn’t widely spoken, but Google Translate worked fine for us.

We almost missed our train after mistakenly thinking a taxi had been called. It hadn’t, but the staff immediately stepped in and drove us to the station themselves. That kindness was typical of the friendly service we received. The food was delicious, the rooms were spacious and beautiful, and the clean onsen had plenty of room. We also enjoyed walking around the lovely area. This may be the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a calm, pleasant stay.

I’ll be recommending this place to anyone heading to Kiso valley. It gave us the traditional ryokan experience I’d hoped for, with thoughtful little touches, wonderful hospitality, and especially good dinner. The staff made us feel welcome and comfortable as soon as we arrived. Our room, the atmosphere, mountain view, and surroundings were all so relaxing. Such an outstanding stay.
