The facilities were great, and the staff were friendly.

The service was pleasant, and the place is enjoyable if you like its setting right inside the station. The facilities are old, but they do the job. What annoyed me was the odd timing around restaurant closing and last orders, something I’ve seen at places in northern Tohoku. The restaurant says it closes at 8 pm and stops taking orders at 7:30, but it closed five minutes before that. What’s the point of posting those times? I went at 25am and just made it, and the online time should be synchronized, so there shouldn’t have been a discrepancy. Maybe the shop’s clock was off, but five minutes is a lot. I suppose it was my mistake to forget the rules at places run by older women in northern Tohoku. You have to arrive 30 minutes before last order. I’m still not happy about it, but that’s how things are in northern Tohoku.

It was interesting staying in a building that was also a train station. The room was roomy and comfortable, and I liked the spacious bath. The meals were generous too. I got a local travel support coupon by chance and used it at the souvenir shop. Sadly, heavy snow had stopped the trains. I was also glad to get a discount coupon for Moriyoshi-Ani Ski Resort.
