We stayed in early April, when it was around 2-3 Celsius. The lodge had a heater, so the cold wasn't a problem. We ended up having a lot of fun buying ingredients and making our own shabu shabu, since the cooking gear was provided. There was a portable gas stove, pot, bowls, plates, a knife, and more. There's no towel provided, so bring your own. The bathroom has a drying function, which worked for drying our ski clothes after skiing.

The room was solidly built and comfortable when I stayed with my usual group of friends on Saturday, July 12th. The place seemed fully booked. I brought supplies to deal with stink bugs, but didn't see any. It would've been nice to have a hot spring close by. There are plenty of day-trip hot springs in the area, though, so it wasn't much of an inconvenience.

It's inexpensive and works well for a few people sharing, but the stink bugs were so numerous that it was disgusting. I couldn't even take a bath, though I was glad there was a hot spring nearby. I stepped on one and got the smell all over my socks. Such a hassle. I wish they'd do something about the stink bugs.
