AZ Hotel Kitakyushu Kokura

After cycling from Fukuoka for the day, this was a welcome, basic hotel. The room was comfortably standard for this kind of place, and breakfast was delicious, with both Japanese and Western choices. I tried Natto for the first time.

The rooms were nice, but the wifi was so bad that I couldn’t use it at all in the rooms.

The room was really nice and very clean.

My smoking twin room was clean, and I had no complaints about it. I appreciate that AZ Hotel keeps the same price even during long holidays, weekends, and public holidays, with breakfast included. Dinner is about 1200 yen extra, but the buffet at the hotel's Shikou Restaurant has limited choices and seems mostly fried food. I guess it’s frozen. All-you-can-drink alcohol is cheap at 1210 yen. The hot vegetable shabu-shabu is expensive, and I don’t like Joyful, so maybe buying a bento box somewhere and eating it there is better. It seems there are no discount plans for Corona World Onsen. At breakfast, there was no milk with the drinks or butter for the bread, though the bread was tasty without butter too. That’s about it. It’s cheap and smoking is allowed. One more thing, the ashtrays are small and fill up with cigarette butts quickly. Bigger ones that could hold a little water to help prevent fires would be better, so you can put cigarettes out quickly. I’d like to use AZ Hotel again, thanks.
