HOPETREE Tennoji

The train track directly behind the hotel was a constant problem. From around 5 a.m. until midnight, the noise and vibration made it feel like a train was going through the building, and I couldn’t sleep or relax properly. My room also wasn’t clean when I arrived: there was trash on the floor and a used pimple patch stuck on the wall beside the bed. The sink filled up within seconds, apparently clogged with hair, and the fridge was warm through the whole first day. I asked for it to be fixed, but when someone finally came the next day, a man knocked and then unlocked and opened my door while I was naked, just getting out of the shower. That felt unsafe and invasive, and I was uncomfortable for the rest of the stay. Near the end, my sister and I felt unwell after eating street food. I texted the night before to ask for an extra hour or two to check out, since there was no staff around and it’s a self-check-in hotel. Checkout is 10 a.m. despite check-in not starting until 3 p.m., so I didn’t think the request was unreasonable. They ignored me for hours, right up to checkout. I’m extremely disappointed I spent my money here. Between the dirt, poor upkeep, privacy issue, noise, and lack of help, this was terrible from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend it, and I regret staying.
