Kitaguchi Hotel

A really relaxing stay.

The front desk team has been kind and helpful on each of my visits. I come back when I need an affordable place to sleep and don't expect much beyond the basics. Downtown is walkable, and there's a convenience store close by.

I used this business hotel near Kitami Station on a weekday evening. The service was polite, and the station and yakiniku places are easy to reach on foot. My cheaper single Japanese-style smoking room was about 5.5 tatami mats, with a TV, fridge, kettle, and its own air conditioner. The toilet and bath were shared. The walls are thin, so you can hear people in the hall and nearby rooms. Parking for this room was at the second company lot, a three-minute walk away, rather than behind the hotel. For an inexpensive stay in Kitami, it could work.

The location, service, and amenities were all great, and the price felt fair for what I got. Still, I was disappointed by the bathroom and sink area, which could have been cleaner. The bathroom was dim, the shower pressure seemed weak, and the floor felt a bit slimy, maybe from the bath salts. I also would've preferred disposable slippers in the room.
