The room was clean and well kept, with a big second-floor window looking toward the university. The snowy view was beautiful. Although I booked room only, there was a mini kitchen in the room, and the first-floor dining area was available for an extra charge, which was handy. Dogs are apparently allowed to stay with guests. For longer stays, they cleaned every two days and changed the towels, which I really appreciated. The gas stove took a bit of skill, but heated up fast. Free parking right by the entrance was welcome too. I’d definitely stay here again if I come to Kitami.

It has the feel of a hotel mixed with a dormitory. The building is old, but the rooms are clean, cared for, and charmingly designed, so it’s a relaxing place to stay. They explain everything thoroughly at check-in, and there’s a kitchenette. One drawback, the curtains don’t block out the light, so it may not work for anyone who needs a fully dark room to sleep.
