Centurion Hotel Grand Kobe Station

If you want to see Kobe without spending a ton on a hotel, this place makes sense. The location is handy, the rooms are nice, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly.

The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help me with a problem caused by my not knowing Japanese. The location was great too. The rooms were nice and the showers were great, though the bed felt a little too hard for me. Maybe that's just how beds are in Japan. There was a couple with a baby crying in the next room, which wasn't great. The walls aren't very thick, though that's not really the hotel's fault.

I gave the location and the people service five stars. There's also a spot in the lobby where you can sit and work. The room itself gets four stars from me. I liked how spacious it was, and the bathroom was small but fine for a typical Japanese-sized bathroom. The bed was firm but sagged in the middle, leaving a V shape when I slept and giving me a sore back every morning. The pillows were too high as well.

The carpets looked a little worn, and I could smell some cigarette smoke in the hotel because it has smoking rooms. Still, the place was clean and well looked after, and both the bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and maintained. The beds, pillows, and duvet were all very comfortable. We found what we needed in the room, and anything else was available downstairs in the lobby. We stayed for a couple of nights. It's very close to Kobe station and well located, with a bit of old-fashioned charm to its style.
