After a long trip back from Aomori, I found a room available and stopped for the night. The big bed let me get some sleep and recover a bit. Dinner was limited to what was available in the service area. I brought alcohol to the room and thought about ordering pizza, but delivery didn’t reach there, which was disappointing. In the end I had a drink with some dried snacks, ate something at the cafeteria, and went to bed. A warning: the Sano ramen at the service area is so bad I can’t eat it.

We were able to relax without having to nap in the car, which was the best part. The room was roomy and comfortable, with the toilet and bath separate. We stayed as a couple, and the bread at breakfast was delicious too.

The innkeepers are friendly, and the location inside a service area is handy. There’s also a smart interchange nearby. Because it’s in the service area, they don’t sell alcohol, even though many other inns have alcohol vending machines. The Sano branch does have a Coca-Cola vending machine that works with Coke ON.

We stayed here on a weekday as a family of four, with two preschoolers. When we booked, they carefully explained where to park, and we had no trouble using it when we arrived. The building isn’t new, but it’s well looked after. The price was reasonable too, so we’d happily stay again.
