Hotel Fine Rokko Kita Ichibanchi

Perfect. This is always my first choice.

For a golf trip in Sanda, I think this is the best hotel.

Fine Hotels are easy to find around Kansai, and members can get meals at pretty reasonable prices. If you want a massage chair, though, you should book a higher grade room instead of leaving the room choice to the hotel. I saw a Tabelog post complaining that the assigned room had no chair, even though the booking photo showed one. What did they expect? People also complain about service, but I wonder what they expect from a love hotel. If the room and interior are clean, that’s enough for me, and good food is a nice extra. There are convenience stores around Karato, MaxValu in Oike, and a La-Mu izakaya in Minotani, so anyone unhappy with the hotel can eat there instead.

The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The service, though, was so poor that, as someone who works in customer service management, I think the staff member needs serious retraining. I’m especially disappointed that my post got a reply when other posts did too. I stayed September 4-5, R7, and checked in around 6 p.m. The female receptionist on duty was unpleasant and disrespectful, and made remarks that didn’t belong at a front desk. When I booked through Yahoo, I expected the massage chair shown in the photos, but room 206 didn’t have one. I asked sincerely if I could switch rooms and was told, “We can’t” and “If you had written it in the form...” It came across as blaming me. At least an apology or a more considerate response would have helped. Dinner was just as confusing. The menu said members could get dishes free or for 100-500 yen, while regular prices were 1500-3000 yen, but there was no clear explanation of how many dishes I could order. Since I booked through Yahoo, I didn’t know the rules. When I tried to order several things, she abruptly said I couldn’t and that I could only have one dish, with extras at regular price. I only learned that after asking. I called several times on the room phone and got a cold, stubborn “It’s impossible. Is that clear?” A normal response would have been to explain the policy and apologize for not making it clear at check-in. The dismissive attitude made me angrier. Breakfast was mishandled too. She handed it over with “Here you go.” You don’t talk to a customer that way, as if feeding an animal. “Here’s your breakfast” would have been enough. The room was comfortable, but the whole stay left me thinking how little this person seemed to know about the job. It was awful.
