The room had two regular beds and two tatami beds, and the staff were really nice. They let you take a limited amount of coffee and tea up to your room. There's no shower or bath in the room, so you have to use the onsen. It felt very traditional and was a pleasant experience. The hotel has free parking, which was great, but there aren't many restaurants or convenience stores nearby. There's a restaurant inside, though its atmosphere might feel uncomfortable or intimidating to some people, myself included. This was a decent stay and a good way to experience traditional Japanese living, quite different from the hotels we're used to.

The onsen was amazing. Its water is Fe filled, and after soaking my skin felt coated in a protective, silky layer. The changing room even had knee gel (Glucosamine gel) and exfoliation for the soles. Our room was clean and big enough for four, with two people in beds and two on Tatami.

A quirky place with very nice rooms and a hot spring. There's no restaurant, just one small alcohol vending machine and one washer/dryer. The walk uphill is challenging, and taxis in Arima are infrequent, so I wouldn't suggest staying here if you have physical challenges.

The staff were helpful and nice, and the room was roomy, clean, and had good Wi-Fi. There weren't many sockets, though, and the hotel is showing its age. I didn't try the restaurant. The bath was on the small side, but the water felt refreshing. It's across the onsen town from the station, so you need to walk a bit, though that wasn't really an issue for me.
