It feels like a place to sleep and shower, with modern-looking facilities. The lounge on lv1 is peaceful. There was no water dispenser, hot water, or oven. I had to awkwardly go to nearby familymarts to get hot water. My capsule wasn't cleaned properly either, there was a used tissue beside the bed, which spoiled the mood 🤢. Check-in is self-service on an iPad, and I didn't see anyone at the front desk, even though it opens until 9pm. You have to make your own bed. The three-layer foldable bed in the capsule room is hard to unfold, and you might hit yourself on the top of the capsule. There's also no hook for clothes, so I had to hang them on the curtain.

I've stayed here a couple of times. It's within walking distance of Kochi station and very central for shops, bars, restaurants, and the food market. The guest house feels cozy and elegant, and the service is awesome. It's very good for the price, with options from capsule rooms to family rooms. There's a Cafe on the first floor where you can order drinks and some food, depending on the day. When I was there, I got to try French food. It seems they change the offerings from time to time, which I think is good since you can taste different kinds of cuisine.

The auto check-in is a nightmare for many people. Even if you get through it, there's nobody there to show you your room or give you keys. I saw several couples leave confused and bewildered to find somewhere else to stay, feeling deceived. We booked three days and tried to leave after one night, but they denied us under the 24 hour cancellation policy. DANGER. Don't book here and ruin your holiday.

The location is perfect, and the place is modern and clean. The mattress is the reason I'm not giving five stars. Some rooms seem to have nice, thick ones, but in the bunk bed room it's thin over a hard wooden surface. If you sleep on your side, it's torture.

Hirome market is about a minute's walk away, and Kochi castle takes about ten minutes on foot. My room was clean, had USB ports, and the staff were very friendly. I stayed one night and slept comfortably. The listing says there's no internet, but there is free Wi-Fi. If you're looking for a very modern, beautiful place to stay, AVA is it. Thanks :) If I come back to kochi, I'll choose AVA again.
