Holiday Inn Kochi Hotel

The location is right in the middle of the bar district, so it's convenient for going out, but drunk people were noisy late into the night. I left feeling more stressed, not rested. From the moment I entered, there was a foul mold and sewage smell that made it hard to breathe. The bathroom and toilet were especially bad, and I avoided using them during my stay, going to a nearby public bath each day instead. The cleaning was hard to believe for a business. There was condensation mold on top of the refrigerator, its inside was yellowed, the sink had black water stains, and dust and garbage were left in the corners and on the floor. The hygiene was so poor that I don't think this should be called accommodation. I booked through Agoda, where reviews were only partially displayed. I couldn't see the important negative reviews or their specifics, so it was hard to judge the place accurately. As someone who relies on reviews, I found that dishonest and extremely irresponsible. I'll never use this place again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It also made me realize I need to be more careful about how Agoda displays reviews.

I wish there were a stove. With a supermarket nearby, it'd be nice as a traveler to cook with ingredients from the local shop, though I understand maintenance might make that impractical. Still, it's cheap and very well located, and a much better choice than an average business hotel. I'd like to stay here regularly when I come to Kochi.

I came back and used the service again. The cleaning wasn't as good as before, so I did it myself with the provided Swiffer. The indoor washing machine tub smelled awful and I couldn't use it. On my first stay, the place was clean and the service courteous. For laundry, you have to use the laundromat downstairs.

For my first trip to Kochi, this was a great place to stay. The neighborhood was nice too. I liked it so much that if I lived somewhere, I'd want a room with this kind of layout. The best.
