Richmond Hotel Kochi

We had a lovely little trip with my four-year-old son. The evening check-in staff were flexible and very helpful, switching between English and Japanese as needed, and they gave him a cute kids' amenity pack to take home. Breakfast had a decent buffet and good coffee. The hotel is right in Kochi's Obiyamachi shopping arcade, which made getting around easy.

The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the hotel was quiet even though it's right in the middle of Obiyamachi. Staff service was the best I've had in Kochi so far, on a level I'd expect at a high-end hotel in Tokyo or another big international city. You can arrange luggage storage and early or late check-out for a reasonable price. There are several breakfast options on site. I had a very nice stay and would recommend it.

The rooms were a comfortable size and nicely equipped, and the staff were accommodating throughout our stay. The location is great, and the price seemed very reasonable. We enjoyed being here and would come back if we're in Kochi again.

The front desk staff were courteous and genuinely helpful. The hotel is well placed for the Sunday Farmer’s Market and Kochi Castle, and Se Relaxer, a restaurant serving Kochi's signature beef, is a five-minute walk away. The rooms are small, as you'd expect at a business hotel, but the bathroom cleaning needs work. Room 608 smelled awful, and after I asked to move, room 409 had no smell but had black mold on the bathroom floor and around the bathtub. The shower curtain also needs replacing between guests. I'd probably stay somewhere else if I return to town.
