Dormy Inn Kofu Marunouchi Hotel

The room felt a little small for what it cost, but the service and breakfast buffet were excellent.

The staff were incredible when we had an issue with our rental car. They went out of their way to help us despite the language barrier. Our family stayed three nights at Dormy Inn, and we found the rooms comfortable. We enjoyed the visit and would stay there again next time we’re in Kofu.

The evening ramen was free and tasted really good, and the breakfast buffet had a nice range of food. The room was a little small but comfortable. It’s about a 10-minute walk to JR kofu station, and there’s a family mart close by. I’d recommend staying here.

The rooftop onsen was packed in the evenings, often past midnight. I managed two lovely, safe soaks around 2am-3am, when I had the women’s baths to myself. My husband said the men’s baths were always occupied whenever he went. We enjoyed the free coffee, nightly ramen on level 1, and the free ice creams and drinks at the Onsen. The lounge was busy every time, too. Breakfast had plenty of food and enough variety for most travelers, and the restaurant staff were cheerful; we loved greeting them each day. Housekeeping did a fantastic job, keeping our room and towels clean, and the housekeepers were so friendly. It’s close to the city and JR line, just a flat seven-minute walk from the station. A tip for crossing: walk on the right side away from the station, then at the pedestrian overhead bridge go five metres up the side road and cross there. Drivers will stop. We didn’t use the bridge once in our six-day stay. I’d have given it five stars if the hotel offered different pillow options.
