The staff were especially kind, and Chiwa deserves special thanks for looking after us so well. We were also amazed by the nearby shrine, one of the most stunning places I've ever seen, and there was hardly anyone around. I'm so glad we found this lovely place. Hotel Yamabuki is a simple, traditional ryokan in Komagane, a quiet farming town at the foot of the mountains. It's beside a main road, but traffic was very light, and it felt good to be away from the tourist trail. We loved the fantastic onsen and delicious meals. The yukata for meals and samue for lounging were both comfortable, and I especially loved my samue. Our room was spacious and pleasant. The only thing that bothered me was the harsh overhead light.

We had a great stay. The room was spacious but could use an update, and the restrooms were tiny. Dinner was amazing and unusual. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful, and the gondola bus stop is right next door.

My girlfriend and I spent two nights here while visiting Komagane to hike in the Chuo Mountains. The bus stop is just outside, and the staff were incredibly helpful, arranging tickets for our trips and serving us so well. Dinner at the hotel was an amazing experience. We didn't have a private onsen with our room reservation, but the public ones were exceptional. We had a wonderful time.

It's a traditional Japanese hotel in a convenient spot, with a bus stop right out front. The facilities are quite old, but still clean. The staff were friendly and helpful for the most part, and I'd recommend staying here.
