The room was comfortable and clean, though being next to the lift meant hearing noise in the morning and evening. The door also needs to be locked with the key each time; it doesn’t lock automatically when closed. I appreciated the free ride to and from Komagane Bus Terminal or JR Station. Just remember to email or tell them the day before so they can arrange it. Suganodai Bus Centre is about a five-minute walk away, where you can buy round-trip bus and ropeway tickets for Senjojiki Cirque. Prices change daily, so check the resort’s website. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were polite and eager to help. They weren’t fluent in English, but Google Translate worked well enough for us to communicate smoothly. The resort was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was a decent buffet, and the dinner buffet was good too, though it cost an extra 6200yen. I stayed for two nights in late October 2024 and had a good time. I’d recommend it to anyone planning to explore Komagane.

The setting is beautiful, with a nice park outside, and the bus station for the ropeway is only about five minutes away. It’s a remote spot, so there isn’t much to do outside the hotel, which may suit people looking for a quiet break. Hotel Resort Lynx is popular with Japanese tourists and can get crowded in peak season. There are activities like hiking, biking, and fishing, and several ski resorts nearby for winter sports. Inside, the rooms are large and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was good, and I enjoyed the onsen. My stay was mixed, though: the rooms could have been cleaner, the facilities felt dated, and the beds weren’t comfortable. I booked a double bed but was given two singles.

Dinner’s beef was delicious, and the room was comfortable, though I found it a bit too dim even with all the lights on. It was a little expensive for one person, but I’d like to bring my family here if we visit Komagane again.

A good value place in a lovely spot close to the mountains. They have flying squirrels, an onsen with indoor and outdoor tubs, and nice restaurants. It’s also a popular wedding venue.
