I stayed here with my dog, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They even left treats for both of us. The hotel was clean and had a kitchen and all the amenities you'd need. Staff spoke enough English to get by, which is helpful if you're visiting from abroad. It's an 18-minute walk from Matsumoto train station, and behind the hotel there's a shopping center with a supermarket, Starbucks and an onsen. If you're traveling with a dog, I highly recommend it.

We made our own breakfast during the several nights we stayed as a family, picking up ingredients at Tsuruya. The room had cooking tools, dishes, seasonings, and other useful amenities, and it was clean. Tsuruya supermarket and the public bath Zuisho are right next door. There’s also a shuttle from Tsuruya to Matsumoto Station, which you can walk to as well if you’re traveling light. You can pay by card on site.

The mountains right in front of us made for a breathtaking view. They also let dogs stay, which was a huge help since there aren’t many places in Matsumoto City that allow them. Everything they provided, including the amenities, was fantastic.

Tsuruya, a high-quality supermarket in Nagano, is right on the same premises, which is a nice bonus. The apartment room has a unified look that reflects the madam’s taste. I stayed two nights, but it felt like too short a time to enjoy the place. It’s a very nice place to stay.
