Apa Hotel Komatsu Grand

The bed was comfy, and there was a wide range of breakfast choices. The buffet opens early, which was handy before our morning flight. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the sauna was a nice bonus.

Our room was larger than at other APA hotels, but there wasn’t enough space to open a suitcase. The buffet breakfast was just okay, with limited food and drink options. Almost everything was cold, including the grilled fish, which was a shame. The public bath is free for guests and is on the fourth floor. It’s old but clean and cozy. Bring towels from your room and give your room number at reception. Komatsu APA hotel is right in front of this one and has similar facilities. From Komatsu Station, it’s about a five-minute walk, one of the less convenient locations in the area, though the weekend price of around 7,000-8,000 yen is reasonable.

It’s a nice hotel with large rooms and an onsen, but the planes passing overhead are so loud and frequent that sleeping is difficult.

There are some useful basics, including free Wi-Fi, towels, a shower sponge, toothbrush, hair band, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The room itself was dated and dark, the bed too soft, and the bathroom ventilation was terrible. I’d only suggest staying here if there really isn’t another option and you have an early flight from Komatsu airport.
