I've stayed at various Oedo and Yukai hotels, and this dog-friendly hotel felt much less crowded. There were fewer guests, so the baths and buffet weren't busy, which made the stay comfortable. The indoor dog run was surprisingly spacious. I could have meals and spend time in the lobby with my dog, and that made me really happy. All the staff were polite and excellent. Sightseeing from here is a bit inconvenient, but I think I'll return every year.

We came to give our elderly Chihuahua a little love, and made it safely despite the heavy snow warning. Parking is limited, and by 3:30 p.m. on Friday it was already 80% full. Check-in can be slow because they check vaccination certificates and have consent forms to sign. If it's busy, you may have to wait. The hotel is spacious and quite old, as are the rooms, but everything was very clean. There's a slight dog smell, though dog lovers probably won't mind. Dogs are supposed to wear pee pants in common areas, but lots of people, especially those with large dogs, ignored the rule. The room was reasonably priced and small but adequate. The bed felt hard. The window-side area was wider than the shoji screen, but it was so cold that we shut the doors and slept with them closed. We ate dinner at 6 p.m. It wasn't crowded, so the meal was comfortable. We ordered a cake for our dog, but it was so big he couldn't even finish half. The baths were empty and better than I expected. I think the indoor bath was about 43°C and the outdoor one about 45°C. The sauna was small but around 95°C, and the cold bath had a strong flow and felt really cool, which was great. I really appreciated the free alcohol and soft drinks in the lounge. There weren't special services beyond the pet offerings, but it was a comfortable stay and good value.
